Cape Motivate ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.
To prepare and submit firearm licensing applications on your behalf, we collect information you provide, which may include: your full name and ID number, contact details, proof of residence, competency and training certificates, spouse ID (where applicable), firearm details, and related supporting documents.
We process your information solely to provide our services: to complete application forms, draft motivations, compile SAPS-ready submissions, keep you informed of progress, and, where you ask us to, remind you of upcoming licence renewals. We do not use your information for any unrelated purpose.
Your documents are stored securely and access is limited to the people working on your application. We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide our services and to meet any legal or regulatory obligations, after which it is securely deleted or de-identified.
We share your information only where necessary to deliver our service, principally with the South African Police Service (SAPS) as part of your application, or where required by law. We do not sell your information, and we never share it for marketing without your consent.
Under POPIA you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
By submitting your details through our forms, you consent to us processing your personal information as described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time, though this may prevent us from completing your application.
